About AT&T Stadium

The stadium accommodates 80,000 fans and will expand to 100,000 for large events like the Super Bowl.  The stadium opened on May 27, 2009 and is the home stadium of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

Stadium construction reportedly cost $1.3 billion, at the time making it one of the most expensive sports facilities built in the world.  Many fans are hoping the stadium will be named after longtime Cowboys head coach Tom Landry, but AT&T has owned naming rights since 2013.

AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX has several nicknames:

  • “Jerry World” or “Jerrassic Park”, after owner Jerry Jones
  • “Cowboys Stadium”, its previous name
  • “Cowboys Cathedral” and “The Palace in Dallas” after the NFL home team Dallas Cowboys
  • “The Death Star” as a reference to the Star Wars movies and shape of the stadium under construction
