The Indigo Girls will be strapping on their guitars tonight and singing their classic songs like “Galileo” and “Closer to Fine” but also some of their new, soon to be classic Indigo Girls songs!
The two decade old due will be touring this time around in Austin to promote their album that was released on March 24th of this year. According to critics, the album doesn’t have their songs that are fueled by the passions of their youth, but rather they are now fueled by love and relationships from a middle-aged prospective.
Although critics don’t have high hopes or criticisms for this album, trying to compare it to some of their great early works like Rights of Passage or Strange Fire, I can’t imagine it being anything but wonderful.
For me their songs render wonderful memories of my childhood where my sister and I tried to recreate their flawless harmonies and guitar cords. And every time I get a chance to relive that experience and incorporate some new favorites from the duo, I am all aboard!
Tonight at Stubbs, they will be taking the stage with Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines with doors opening at 7pm.
