More big movement this week. It’s good, gives me something to rattle on about. The biggest change is the most obvious: Jay-Z rocketing from nowhere to take the top spot. Not only did he take it, he crushed the competition in doing so. The recent release of part 3 of the 3 part The Blueprint Trilogy probably has something to do with the upsurge in interest. At the moment, the only tickets listed are for a concert in Madison Square Garden in New York, today. So may be a little tricky to get there if you haven’t already made arrangements. Not to worry, he is on tour in support of The Blueprint 3, so more dates will probably show up soon.
Jay-Z did manage to topple hometown favorites the Texas Longhorns, but they remained strong, and I hear a good time was had by all at this year’s opening tailgate for the UL-Monroe game. Up next for tailgating fans is the Texas Tech game, on September 19th. Miley Cyrus followed right along behind Texas while the ever nearing ACL festival again returns to the countdown. ACL 2009 kicks off October 2nd, so time is steadily running out to get your tickets.
The bottom 5 features “here and gone” favorites Blink-182 showing up again, and Kings of Leon seem to be following their example. Taylor Swift took a bigger tumble from the top 5, while rockers KISS managed to just hang on to the countdown this week.
