The Monumentour Tour Tour Announcement

Alt rock comeback kids Fall Out Boy and Paramore announced recently they are joining forces for a summer tour. The news of the tour escaped a bit early than either band planned, as the announcement video leaked a couple of days ago. Apparently their marketing team lacks the discipline of Mrs. Carter’s. Both bands are coming off successful #1 albums released after long breaks.

The 37 date, 30 city tour kicks off in Hartford at the recently re-branded Xfinity Theatre in Hartford. It will rolling through central Texas in early August, including a stop at the Austin360 Amphitheater. Currently it is scheduled to wrap up on the west coast at the Sleep Train Pavilion, where the name alone suggests the dizzy levels of excitement shows there must generate.

Here’s Paramore’s “Still Into You,” their biggest hit from last year’s self-titled return album. I could have used a Fall Out Boy video, but given a choice between watching Hayley Williams for 3 minutes 41 seconds and not watching Hayley Williams for 3 minutes 41 seconds, I bravely choose the former. In my continuing tradition of pointing out interesting elements of the video in question, note half her hair is pink while the other half is orange-red. Also, for some reason there’s two dudes hanging around. I believe they are among the founding members of the “Please Never Go Solo, Hayley” Club.
