Super Bowl Celebrations 101

On Sunday, 82,500 fans will pack in to MetLife Stadium for Super Bowl XLVIII. While there’s no comparison to the experience of actually being at the game, we here at TicketCity have a few tips on how you can still have a great time taking it all in from home.

BlogPic_MO  Meredith:  Wings! Every Super Bowl party needs wings, they are the ultimate football food. Spicy, mild, boneless, BBQ; offer a variety and everyone will be happy!

Clark:  Be sure have a squares game, even if it’s just a couple bucks per square.  6256_117511376991_5117319_n
It gets everyone into the game and paying attention to the score. You can find directions and templates here.

6tag_061013-194207  Brandon:  Get the guests involved! Make up some yellow and red flags and give them to the guests as they arrive.  This way everyone can show their support or disgust with a particular call.

Ryan H.:  Bacon. Explosion.  Those two words together can only mean trouble; tasty tasty trouble.  A ‘Bacon Explosion’ is weaved bacon that is wrapped around 2 lbs of pork and, bacon1you called it, more bacon. You can find the original recipe over at BBQ Addicts website, but I guarantee it to be one of your most popular dishes at this party.

162803_486792519291_1291932_n  Randy:  Marshmallows!  It’s great to be prepared for a marshmallow fight just in case the game gets boring ;)

Now that you’ve had a successful and enjoyable Super Bowl XLVIII, it’s time to start planning for next year! Super Bowl XLIX will be held in Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium on February 1, 2015 and you know where to go to score tickets!

Is TicketCity Legit?

So you’re wondering if TicketCity is legit? We get it; it’s a legit question. Lots of people have asked the same question so to make it easy for you, here’s the answer: YES!

What’s that? You’re still not sure? Ok, let me tell you a bit more.

TicketCity was founded in 1990; the same year that the World Wide Web was invented, and Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On” topped the charts, and Kevin McCallister was left “Home Alone”.  No matter how you slice it, that was a long time ago. And the thing is, we haven’t lasted 23 years by scamming people; the reason we’ve been around so long comes down to one simple answer: service. TicketCity has been committed to customer service since day 1, and 23 years later, our dedication is just as strong. The ticket industry certainly looks a lot different than what it did back in 1990, thanks in no small part to a little thing called the internet, but whether you’re buying tickets over the phone or on our website, TicketCity is committed to making sure you have the best experience possible.

So now are you sure? You want to know what happens if you have a problem with your tickets?

At TicketCity, we don’t refer to those as problems; rather, we like to think of them as opportunities! If an issue comes up at any time, we have a staff available 7 days a week to help you out. And when we say “staff”, we aren’t referring to a machine that we make you talk to, or a bunch of people in a call center overseas; we have real live people that answer the phone every day of the week. Not a fan of the phone? That’s ok too; you can reach us via email, live chat, Facebook, Twitter, fax, telegraph or pigeon messenger if that’s your thing! No matter what the method, we are ready and willing to help.

You’re sure now? Awesome! But don’t just take our word for it; here are a few reviews from some of our awesome customers:

  • Annette in Raleigh: The website is fast and easy to use. I got the exact tickets I wanted at a price I liked. I received a nice follow up after the event to make sure I enjoyed it. So it was all around great service. Thanks for making this a memorable experience.
  • Jennifer in Jersey: I was skeptical about ordering tickets over the internet. Not only did TicketCity get me the tickets I requested, they were on the 50-yard line! I will definitely become a repeat customer.
  • Suzi in Austin: Great experience.  Needed hard-to-find show tickets and found them at TicketCity.   Pricing was straightforward, checkout was easy, and pickup was a breeze.   These are my new go-to guys!

George Strait – The Cowboy Rides Away Tour – Part Deux

The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived; in a press conference today at AT&T Stadium, George Strait announced dates for the last leg of his Cowboy Rides Away tour. The first leg of his tour in 2013 consisted of 21 dates with Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert along for the ride. I had the opportunity to see him perform at his final stop and hometown of San Antonio and it was without a doubt the best show I’ve ever seen. He truly “brought down the house”; by the end of the show just about everyone was in tears as he played his last song, “I Believe”, that he wrote about the children in Newtown, CT.

After such a memorable first part of his tour, it’s hard to imagine how things could get even better, but this is George Strait we are talking about here. His 2014 tour is shaping up to be even bigger and better with 26 cities and even more opening acts such as Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Jason Aldean, Lee Ann Womack (I can practically hear them singing “Good News, Bad News” already), and more. He hasn’t yet revealed which openers will accompany him during which dates but it looks like no matter who joins him it will be a star-studded event. After all, you do have to be a pretty big deal to open for the King of Country himself.

George Strait has said that the Cowboy Rides Away Tour will be his last one, and at the age of 61, who can blame him? But he’s slated to record at least 5 more albums through his label so it looks like we haven’t heard the last of him yet. He holds the record for the most #1 hits on the charts with 60 over the course of his career and with 5 more albums in the works I smell at least a few more #1’s. Even if George Strait does decide to perform after this tour, he’s made it pretty clear that this is the last time he’ll do something on this scale. For most of us, this will likely be the last chance to see him perform so don’t let this opportunity pass you by. Below is the list of his final shows; find the one closest to home and secure your tickets, they’ll be available here at the end of Setember. As George would say, catch a ride, catch a cab, take a truck, take a Chevy, find a truck and fire it up, lean on the gas and off the clutch, but whatever you do, run to see him in his final tour.  I guarantee he’ll put on the show of a lifetime, one you are sure to never forget.
