Barber & Newman sign extensions for Cowboys

The 2008 NFL season is coming up soon and I’m prepared to see how my team will perform this season.  The Dallas Cowboys have been my all time favorite NFL team ever since I can remember.  Being a long time Dallas fan himself, and creating a mini fan (me), I remember when my dad would have super bowl parties at the house and being able to be there to celebrate with him, friends, and family for a few of their super bowl wins in the 90′s.

Exciting enough, the latest breaking news about the team is that two Pro Bowlers, Marion Barber (RB) and Terence Newman (CB) have recently signed extensions with the Cowboys.  Of course, the contracts were not signed without giving Jerry Jones a run for his money.  Just yesterday, Marion Barber extended his contract for seven years at $45 mil, and Newman a six year contract for $50.2 million!  Luckily enough, the boys signed their extensions just before a salary cap rule was passed by the league.

If there is one sport I love to watch, it has to be NFL football.  I’m excited for the 2008 season and even more excited to see Barber again, after a great season in 2007.  I’d love to be able to celebrate another super bowl win with my dad sometime in the near future, so I’m hoping this roughly $95 million that Jones has spent will be worth it in the end.  I have not been able to attend a Dallas Cowboy’s game, but now that I’m employed with one of the top ticket brokers in the country, I will surely make it a point to attend one this coming season.  I know there are many long-time Cowboys fans just like me, and I hope that you all get to experience a game live if you haven’t already.  TicketCity has already listed inventory for the 2008 season and is always happy to help you get there!  Go to and place your order online for your very own Dallas Cowboys tickets, or call a sales associate at 1-800-SOLD-OUT!

Glow in the Dark Tour – Featuring Kanye West

Last week, I decided (last minute) to attend the Glow in the Dark Tour featuring Kanye West, Rihanna, NERD, and Lupe Fiasco.  My boyfriend had been anticipating this show for quite a while, so I went ahead and bought a pair of tickets for us a few hours before the show.  I decided that we couldn’t miss Kanye and Rihanna while they were in Austin, TX performing one of the hottest tours of 2008.

We arrived a little late, but as we were in line for some refreshments I heard Lupe Fiasco opening up the show and hyping up the crowd by performing one of his most popular and recent songs, “Superstar.”  We got our drinks as fast as we could and headed to our seats.  The venue was practically full already and there Lupe Fiasco was on stage, dancing and hyping up the crowd to sing along.  We were on the center floor about twenty rows back but the view was still great and you could feel the energy of the crowd.  The venue was dark and had different color beams of lights strobing all around the stage.  The big screens that set a background for the performers made the show more intense and entertaining.

Next to perform was NERD.  NERD members include Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley and boy did they put on a show.  To be honest, I had the most fun during this performace.  Their music was fresh and different.  I paid special attention to Pharrell, as he is the one I am most familiar with; he and the two drummers were the most exciting!  They were lively, loud, and energetic.  The crowd was jumping, yelling, singing, and dancing.  NERD undeniably turned the show up a knotch and I awaited the next performance with much anticipation.

Rihanna was finally up on stage with her name in lights and I was happy, happy!  She walked on stage with so much confidence and performed her hit songs, “Umbrella”, “Don’t Stop the Music”, and “Pon De Replay.”  Rihanna had alot of stage props that made her performance fun and entertaining.  Rihanna had very talented backup dancers that drew in the crowd and made me want to dance as well!  The crowd was crazy for Rihanna, her fans were loving every second of it.

Finally, last but not least, Kanye was up next!  It got dark and all of the sudden he was on stage performing.  The crowd cheered loudly for him and I felt the most excitment of the whole night from the crowd as soon as he came up on stage.  All I can say is that he was the best single performance that I’ve ever seen.  Kanye didn’t need other people around him to make the show amazing, he did it all by himself.  He had the crowd singing along to ALL his songs!  He performed the longest; about an hour.

All in all the concert was great, one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, and I was glad I decided to go.  My boyfriend loved the show as well and was happy I treated him to this event.  If you get the chance to buy tickets to see Kanye West during this Glow in the Dark Tour, I strongly recommend you buy!  Kanye, Rihanna, NERD, and Lupe Fiasco will all be performing this Glow in the Dark Tour all across the country until the end of May 2008, so don’t miss your chance to see them in your area!  TicketCity can get you these tickets! 2008 Houston Rodeo

After about a month, I can honestly say that the pleasure has been all mine to be able to work with such fantastic people.  Everyone has been so helpful and the environment is anything but stressful.  My next mission is to be able to actually purchase tickets through TicketCity and make it out to an event.  I help people all day and I’ve been thinking… IT’S MY TURN!

I have never been to the Houston Rodeo, matter of fact, I have been to ANY rodeo.  Recently, I got an e-mail from my best friends brother.  He was talking about how “Dallas is going to the Super Bowl.”  I’ve known him and my best friend since I was about 5 years old and I haven’t heard from him in about 2 years!  I was shocked that he included me in the e-mail.  We just never really kept in touch after I moved to Austin but we were like brother and sister growing up and we have both always been HUGE Dallas fans.  I took the opportunity to e-mail him back and let him know that I work for one of the best ticket brokers and that he should get in touch with me if he wanted some tickets to see the Cowboys or for anything else.

Soon enough I got a phone call from him.  He was shocked and pretty excited to find out that I was now working in the ticket industry.  He told me how he had been looking for Dallas playoff tickets for the last two weeks.  He even told me how he gave about $500 to this one guy that he knew and said could get him tickets to the playoff game.  Well, the guy ended up giving him his money back (luckily) and told him that the game was all sold out!  I told him how we still had tickets, at the time, he was pretty upset that he was told the game was sold out.

Anyway, he ended up inviting me to the Houston Rodeo to see Brooks and Dunn on March 22.  I can’t wait to be able to spend time with an old friend and finally get to experience a rodeo for the first time!

Join me and many others for this exciting event!  Get your Houston Rodeo tickets at today!  Our goal is to provide a valuable service to people who need tickets.
