We’ve had a great number of inquiries about SEC Championship Tickets for the game in Atlanta, GA at the Georgia Dome. Fans want to know which sides or sections will be for Alabama and which will be for Florida. Below is a seating chart and legend to help you out, but basically it’s pretty easy… The SEC East team, Florida, has the East side of the stadium, and the SEC West team, Alabama, has the West side of the stadium.

Tickets allotted to Florida are in sections 124-135, 333-347. Alabama allotment includes 101-107, 136-140 and 301-310, 348-352. If you assume the natural split of the remaning sections will follow that would be:

University of Florida Gators

Sec 116-135

Sec 222-247

Sec 322-347

University of Alabama Crimson Tide

Sec 101-115, 136-140

Sec 200-221, 248-251

Sec 301-321, 348-352

If you were at ACL the Friday you saw Zilker Park like you’ve never seen it before. That’s because ACL organizer C3 Presents spent nearly $2.5 million in improvements to the park, which included that amazing, no shoes needed grass.

Then on Saturday it poured, making Zilker Park a mud pit. Like a true festival, the fans and music didn’t stop one bit though.

This unfortunately ruined C3’s mass improvements and investment in Zilker…BUT ONLY UNTIL THE END OF OCTOBER.

C3 has reported that though Zilker Park is very muddy, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department states that “the grass and root system are still in tact. Zilker Park will be restored to pre-Festival conditions, and as always, C3 Presents will be covering the cost of post-Festival park maintenance.”

For early ACL tickets look at TicketCity’s website often for possible 2010 tickets and further updates.

With one week left to go, tennis fans are gearing up for what many - including Andy Roddick’s coach – claim will be one of the best US Open tournaments in history. Nadal is back after recovering from knee injuries and looking strong. Andy Murray is now ranked No. 2 in the world and Federer’s newly found fatherhood seems to suit him well.

What has made this grand slam different than past years? Well the recent US Open series tournaments have produced rare matchups in the series history. The top 8 ranked men in the world all reached the quarterfinals of the Rogers Cup in Montreal for the first time since 1972. Then in the semifinals of the Western & Southern Financial in Cincinatti No. 1 Federer faced No. 2 Murray while No. 3 Nadal battled No. 4 Djokovic. This was also the strongest playing field in Cincinnati’s history. Accecpting only 44 men and 45 women directly, the lowest ranked man on the premliminary list was No. 44 while the lowest ranked female was No. 49.

Results of those previous tournaments:

Rogers Cup – Montreal, Canada
Men’s Singles: A. Murray (defeating J. Del Potro)
Women’s Singles: E. Dementieva (defeating M. Sharapova)
Men’s Doubles: D. Nestor/N. Zimonjic (defeating B. Bryan/M. Bryan)
Women’s Doubles: N. Llagostera Vives/M. Martinez Sanchez (defeating S. Stosur/R. Stubbs)

Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women’s Open – Cincinatti, OH
Men’s Singles: R. Federer (defeating N. Djokovic)
Women’s Singles: J. Jankovic (defeating D. Safina)
Men’s Doubles: M. Bhupathi/M. Knowles (defeating M. Mirnyi/A. Ram)
Women’s Doubles: C. Black/L. Huber (defeating N. Llagostero Vives/M. Martinez Sanchez

This week, the world’s top players are taking a break while others are using the Piolot Pen as the last warm-up tournament before next week’s grand slam.

Don’t miss out on what could potentially be a historic year for the US Open! Tickets to the US Open are still available for all sessions. This is also the last week to purchase rain-out insurance.

A bit of breaking new before the countdown: the AP reports that Aerosmith is canceling its tour. The cause for the cancellation are the injuries received by frontman Steven Tyler in a fall from the stage during a performance in South Dakota on August 5th. His shoulder was broken in the fall.

On with the countdown, which showed quite a bit of moment this week, though mostly with a shuffle of familiar faces. The Jonas Brothers were again on top, followed by Taylor Swift, and once again Blink-182 zooms in from nowhere. The bottom five is completely different, with Wicked popping back in as the fall Broadway season gets underway.

Football season reminds us it is imminent once more, as the Texas Longhorns make an appearance on the countdown. After the Cowboys a couple weeks ago, followed by an odd interlude with soccer, we should be seeing some football on the countdown for at least the next few months.

In the wake of Michael Jackson’s passing, a Thriller-esque monster has emerged. That would be the refund. The refund for 50 shows. 750,000 tickets. Various tickets outlets. One venue. Unlike a typical tour where various venues and box offices might be invovled, this is all being shouldered by AEG Live, the promoter and operator of the O2 Arena in London, and its ticketing partners. Refunds due are amounting to more than $85 million on the 750,000 tickets sold.

Fans are anxiously awaiting instructions as to how they can get their refund, but AEG is still in the process of holding meetings to decide exactly how to deal with this. So if you have Michael Jackson tickets, unfortunately we don’t have any refund details for you yet. (And we should note that TicketCity did not sell any tickets to Mr. Jackson’s upcoming shows.) While a refund may seem simple enough, it’s more complicated with not only Ticketmaster involved as the primary box office seller, but AEG Live also partnered with reseller Viagogo, O2 partnered with reseller Seatwave and there were also likely a large number of VIP and travel packages sold. Add on top of that the fact that there was a global market for this show, now we add in currencies, exchange rates, etc. And now things really get complicated.

There are a few details that are fascinating about this situation. First, the fact that it’s surely going to require an inordinate amount of time to reverse all of these transactions which originally happened within five hours, to sell out the entire 50-date event. Too bad there is no control-Z command for this situation.

Second, this fiasco, or what one concert industry exec referred to as “the biggest mess in the history of our business,” is estimated at the astonishing sum of $85 million, while reports have recently come out that MJ was over $400 million in debt when he passed. 400 million dollars. Hopefully that makes AEG feel a little better in this monstrosity. I’m not sure what would be worse: organizing the $85 million refund or managing the estate to develop a plan to make good on $400 million in debt.

So if you have Michael Jackson tickets and want to claim your refund, the best you can do right now is to locate your tickets and any receipts or credit card information from the transaction. Be sure you understand from whom you bought your tickets. If you did not by your tickets from the primary seller, it will be difficult and most likely impossible to get a refund from them. You will need to contact the seller who sold you the tickets. AEG Live and most of the ticket sellers have issued official “wait for more info” statements. So hold tight; it may take some time to figure this one out.

In the meantime keep checking out this site that has so conveniently started to aggregate the statements and updates on refunds from various outlets. Michael Jackson Refund Updates
