My prediction that George Strait would hang onto the countdown based on volume from last weekend proved correct. I’m not sure what I win, but when I find out, I’m sure I’ll tell me. George just missed the top three, where members of the old clique are teaming up once more. There’s little loyalty in the rough-and-tumble world of the top three on the TicketCity Week in Search. After weeks of being in the ballpark, Bruno Mars makes to the top. Taylor Swift, no stranger to the rebound, lands in the second spot, and 1D hangs out at #3 like it’s no big deal.

Pink, who’d been forced out by the brief conference tourney frenzy, returns strong, closing out the top five. While interest in basketball hardly vanished, it’s just so widely distributed that it’s not going to crack the top 10 until things get closer to the Final Four.

Maroon 5 pops back in to lead off the bottom five. They are followed by Clapton, whose local gig probably played a part in his countdown debut. Clapton is touring with The Wallflowers through April before heading back across the Pond for some gigs in the homeland.

Finally, the Austin Rodeo make this year’s countdown debut, just in time for Gary Allan to close things out this weekend. Allan’s visiting the Austin Rodeo while on tour in support of his latest album, Set You Free.

8 - Kentucky Derby
9 - KISS
10 - Masters Tournament

One Direction bested all of college basketball in the heart of “madness” this week, so I think that means tween girls everywhere just won the office bracket pool. The UK boy band crushed the competition, even when all things NCAA were yet again bundled into a single entry. The “Up All Night Tour” will be hitting the shores of North America in late May and continue through July.

One Direction will be performing at #3, the Kid’s Choice Awards, so stateside audiences can enjoy a little preview of the tour. Entry #4 is a nominee, so quite a big night for the Kid’s Choice Awards.

In its final week, the Austin Rodeo slipped to #6. Springsteen returns to #7, and the Derby makes another appearance at #8.

In other, slightly more rock-oriented tour news, KISS is paring up with umlaut aficionados Mötley Crüe on “The Tour.” The two hard rock legends will be filling arenas near you starting in July and finishing up in September.

Taking a short break from sports this week. It’s not that March Madness didn’t kick off, it’s just those (now) 2nd and 3rd round games never really get enough traction to crack the top 10. So many games, so many ways to search. Not unexpectedly, the Austin Rodeo leaps to the top. Only about to the half way mark, there’s ample time to catch the acts lined up for next week. The Rodeo ended the esteemed Mr. Bieber’s streak at the top, and did nothing to Lady Gaga, who remains at #3.

Lil Wayne bounces back from the bottom five to nab the #4 spot, while The Artist Formerly Known as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince appears out of nowhere to grab the #5 spot, and grant me the opportunity to use that now highly cliche joke. He’s not really a fan of “the Internet” anymore. Not sure why, it’s a monumental human achievement that’s used primarily to exchange feline photography captioned in 36 point, black stroke, white Impact font.

The WWE leads off the lower 5, where Kenny Chesney returns to the mix. Also returning after a rather long absence from the countdown is Jimmy Buffett. Buffett was injured during an encore in a show back in January, but has since recovered and is back on the road this April with the Welcome to Fin Land Tour. Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi round things out this week.
