We’re getting close to bowl season and that’s our favorite time of the year here at TicketCity. We’ve got some bowl predictions to quench your bowl thirst until announcement day on December 2. Head over to our bowl page if you’re interested in tickets. Here are some of the more interesting match ups being projected:
Holiday Bowl: TCU vs. Oregon State — Two teams with totally different seasons. OSU came out of nowhere and were ranked as high as #7 nationally, while TCU was 4-0 and #15 to start the season before losing some nail-biters. This game would be a treat for anyone in SoCal.
Rose Bowl: Nebraska vs. Oklahoma — As excited as Nebraska would be to make the Rose Bowl, can’t see them being too happy about drawing Oklahoma. Bo Pelini has made his feelings on the Big 12 clear, and having to out-coach Bob Stoops is never an easy task (even with OU’s troubles in BCS games). A tasty match up for Oklahoma, however, as they’d like to give the Huskers one last kick out the door.
Cotton Bowl: Texas vs. Texas A&M — Where to start with this one? Texas walked off the field in College Station thinking they had won their last game against the Aggies for years to come. Now they might have to see A&M and their Heisman candidate QB Johnny Manziel? The Horns have righted the ship recently, but I don’t think there’s a soul on the 40 Acres that wants to see the Longhorns face Texas A&M in January.
BCS National Championship: Oregon vs. Notre Dame — While Kansas State is ranked #1 in the BCS right now, our predictions cover how we think the rest of the season will play out and our resident picker doesn’t see Bill Snyder’s Wildcats coming out of the rest of their schedule unscathed. Oregon vs. Notre Dame would be high-octane offense vs. a wall of defense on the biggest stage. When Notre Dame is in the mix, the rest of the country is always watching.

Season’s First BCS Rankings Cause Quite A Stir

As the season’s first BCS poll rankings are revealed, it’s always expected there will be a difference of opinion, and many opinions at that. However, some interesting upsets this weekend, with the likes of Ohio State and Nebraska, mixed with the usual chatter around the much debated BCS, have brought even more debate. “Pay no attention to these BCS standings,” saya Dan Wetzel of Yahoo’s Rivals.com. And Bleacher Report asks the question, “Who Got Screwed in the First BCS Poll?” Depsite Nebraska’s loss to Texas and still being ranked above them (No. 16 vs No. 19), some would argue Nebraska still got screwed after a 7 point loss to a then unranked team. And apparently Wisconsin’s win over Ohio State did not have the impact many expected as the Badgers still chase the Buckeyes in the poll, No. 13 to No. 10.

FedEx BCS National Championship
Projection: Texas vs. OU
Texas has a case, and if Missouri does not pull off a shocker, Texas should still have enough BCS points to stay ahead of Florida.
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl
Projection: Florida vs. Utah
The Fiesta Bowl will pick Florida because they will be the next highest ranked BCS teams. The big question will be the opponent, as the Fiesta will get the first pick of at-large teams and will cut a deal with the Sugar Bowl and end up taking Utah because it is closer. And they will travel to Arizona after there amazing season.
Allstate Sugar Bowl
Projection: Alabama vs. Ohio State
The SEC championship game loser will travel to the Sugar Bowl, and the Fiesta Bowl will enable them to scoop up Ohio State again. Ohio isn’t afraid to have a big game in New Orleans.
Fedex Orange Bowl
Projection: Boston College vs. Cincinnati
The ACC champion automatically goes here. Boston College should beat up on Virginia Tech and Cincinnati will be the last available BCS team standing.
Rose Bowl presented by Citi
Projection: USC vs. Penn State
This is already set in stone unless USC loses to UCLA and it should be a great matchup.
San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl
Projection: TCU vs. Boise State

Projection: Maryland vs. Navy
