10 - Pink

Good to see some movement in the top three. Remember kids, sharing is caring.

While allegedly doing a great deal of research for a future cover of the theme song to Octopussy, the esteemed Mr. Bieber takes the top spot. He trades places with 1D, who land at #2 while Taylor Swift patiently awaits her turn. I suppose 1D’s Harry Styles can take some comfort in this ranking after getting tossed back. Maybe 1D will get a cut of the future breakup song Swift writes about him.

Coming as it did last Monday, the BCS managed to hold onto the #4 spot on the strength of the first few days of this week. Quite a bit of interest in the game, at least until they started playing it. Budding screenwriters were likely most disappointed of all, as reality came crashing down upon a good story.

Rounding out the top 5, and leading a fresh pack of entries, is George Strait, whose farewell tour with Martina McBride is making the rounds in the coming months. Other spring diversions pack the bottom five, including the WWE, Monster Jam, and the Houston Rodeo.

Competing for your country music dollar this spring is Luke Bryan, who is on Dirt Road Diaries Tour. This is the more recently minted country star’s first headlining tour.

Finally, those looking for a little more R&B and rock in their pop can join P!nk on The Truth About Love Tour.

8 - Houston Texans
9 8 Luke Bryan
10 7 Bon Jovi

The top three remain the same, though not in the same order this week. How many weeks to come is really the only question at this point. With the wind (of announcing 30 new tour dates) at his back, the esteemed Mr. Bieber returns to the top spot. It remains to be seen how long this taste of former glory will last. The extension of the Believe Tour is a good sign the severity of Bieber Fever hasn’t ebbed too much.

The Knicks make an appearance on the countdown. Best I can figure is the game against Rockets this week where one Jeremy Lin returned to MSG. Bieber Fever may still be infectious, but it appears medical science was able to find a cure for Linsanity.

The Cowboys hold steady at #5, as playoff hopes stay alive.

The BCS kicks off the bottom five as the only bowl game survivor. It’s followed by a new face on the countdown, though not in music in general: Fleetwood Mac. The band is going on tour again in 2013 for the 35th anniversary of the Rumors album. As it is still one of the best selling albums of all time, that’s a pretty good excuse.

Well, that’s it for this year. I’ll be back next year, hope it goes well for all our readers.

The Week in TicketCity Search – Swift Bowling

10 8 Orange Bowl

I’d wax poetic about that candle-burning-brightly-but-not-lasting-long thing, but I can’t remember the quote exactly. Meh, that was inspiring enough, right? The candle in this horribly wounded metaphor is bowl game listings on the top ten in this very blog post. Not completely spent, but certainly not the force they were last week. There are only four bowls left, with the BCS the best placing at #4.

The brighter flames on the countdown are the ones we may be seeing vying for the top spot for months to come. This week it’s Taylor Swift, so girl power gets the drop on the Y-chromosome set.

Moving to the bottom five, Cowboys fans are looking to see those last few games, as the Boys have a chance to reach the postseason. They’re followed by Bon Jovi, who will need to bring their a-game if they plan to crack the top 3. Like the other contenders, Bon Jovi will be on the road this spring, touring in support of their to-be-released album, What About Now.

Luke Bryan rounds things out on the concert side, while the Outback Bowl squeezes in an appearance for the season, and the Orange Bowl drops two spots to last place this week.
