Pearl Jam fans are closer to a new album. The band is celebrating their 20th anniversary this month by touring, staring in a documentary by Cameron Crowe, and headlining a two day festival earlier this month. This rather busy schedule represents a pause in work on a follow-up to the 2009 album Backspacer, but bassist Jeff Ament assures Rolling Stone that they will be back at work on the album soon.
Fans eager for a preview received the track “Olé” as a free download earlier this month. The song will be part of the new, as-yet-untitled album when it is released.
While the festival is past, the band is still playing dates in September. You can still pick up Pearl Jam tickets to catch the band as they hit big cities in Canada before heading down to Mexico City for a pre-Thanksgiving show in November.
