Looks like the cool kids have a new clique. The top three remains the same this week with yet another big Beyoncé blow-out. 1D and Taylor Swift retain the second and third spots. Ousted member Justin Beiber remains mired in the bottom five, discarded like one of Swift’s former boyfriends. Bruno Mars is putting in his application to join up, with a solid four point rise that lands him in the forth spot. Mars embarks on the Moonshine Jungle World Tour this summer. Tour dates include either Fitz & the Tantrums or noted Herefordshireian Ellie Goulding.

With this year’s San Antonio Rodeo on the the books, Houston quickly takes over. March provides a wide selection of big concert dates in Reliant Stadium, from Kenny Chesney to Pitbull. George Strait closes things down as his final tour swings through on the 17th.

Rihanna’s Diamond’s tour heats up, a tad, as she slides into the #6 spot. Something that has an outside chance to shake things up a bit at the top appears in the #8 spot, in a bit of a “Justin cluster.” The Timberlake version has been otherwise occupied with his acting career for a while now, but he’s back with a new album and tour. The album, The 20/20 Experience, arrives later this month, and the tour will be hitting some of the biggest stadiums in the US this summer. The venue list is pretty much a who’s who (or maybe what’s what?) of packing in very large numbers of people in the same place.

Jay-Z will be joining Timberlake on the tour, keeping Mr. Carter occupied while Mrs. Carter is on her own tour. It will be interesting to see if the double bill of Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake can generate the sort of buzz Beyoncé is currently riding. I would have expected a bigger debut if that was going to be the case. There is ample time for this little rivalry to shape up, so we will see who’s at the top come the summer.

Apparently the half-life of the average Fall Out Boy is pretty short. The radioactive frenzy for Fall Out Boy tickets departed faster than a gamma ray through Marie Curie. Beyoncé comfortably endures in her fallout sheltered top spot. The boys from Britain swing back into second place after a rocky couple of weeks, and Taylor Swift moves back into third after a more graceful one point drop.

The San Antonio Rodeo continues to hold onto the top 5, cheating a bit by actually “happening right now.” You’ve got until the weekend to check out the shows. Darius Rucker closes out the entertainment portion of the show on the 23rd. The rodeo finals are on the 24th.

Bieber enjoys a bit of a rebound as well, though smaller and just enough to lead off the bottom five this week. He’s joined by Rihanna, whose Diamonds Tour will open in March. The opening act in the US will be A$AP Rocky, with David Guetta a possible opener for the European leg of the tour. That won’t start up until June, so Rihanna fans state-side will have ample to catch her between now and then.

Bruno Mars clings to the #8 spot after sliding a couple notches, and, with Wrestlemania fast approaching, the WWE returns to the countdown at #9. Considering they’ve already started hyping next year’s Wrestlemania, this one will probably be a great deal. As for next year’s show at the Superdome, I’m sure they’ll exercise the sort of tasteful restraint they’re known for when promoting a show using the Roman numerals for 30.

10 - NKOTB

Exact same top 5 two weeks in a row? That is a first. Kind of a catch-22, because after pointing out that it has never happened before, it doesn’t leave me much else to talk about. I had figured the Super Bowl might crack the top 3, but it did not happen. It may still have a shot if fans are looking for last minute tickets this weekend. We can accommodate, as TicketCity will have a crew out there in the Big Easy to attend to such needs.

The WWE shoots into the #5 spot. The build-up to Westlemania is on, so the WWE will likely be popping in and out of the countdown for the next month or so. Maroon 5 drops in at #7, helping add some additional “five” theme to the countdown. They are kicking off the second leg of the Overexposed Tour this month, touring North America through April before heading back to Europe this summer.

Houston replaces San Antonio for this weeks rodeo entry. The Houston Rodeo is arguably the biggest, and attracts the big acts, not just of the country variety either. Toby Keith starts things off and George Strait shuts it down, but in between you’ll have Mary J. Blidge, Demi Lovato, Styx, Bruno Mars and Pitbull among a long list of country luminaries (though not The Lumineers).

Finally, the New Kids on the Block arrive in last place. They are touring with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. I checked the date on my computer’s clock and it still reads 2013, but there you go.

10 - NY Rangers

This week we have a lot of holdovers, and a surprise entry in what was formerly just a three way battle for the top. The boys from 1D take the top spot, followed by… wait… really? George Strait finds himself in unfamiliar company, climbing to the #2 spot as his last tour winds through Texas. We will see if some that hipness rubs off on George, sandwiched as he is between 1D and the esteemed Mr. Bieber. George’s sudden rise pushes Taylor Swift down to #4, while the Falcons ride some NFL playoff glory to the #5 spot.

Luke Bryan’s debut headlining tour gains three spots to start off the bottom five this week. The Houston Rodeo holds steady at #7. Perhaps only slightly coincidentally he will be playing at the Houston Rodeo, as will George Strait.

A little pop folk from England shows up at #8. Ed Sheeran, who will be opening for Taylor Swift upcoming Red Tour, has some solo dates around the country before that, and is gathering some momentum of his own.

As you may have heard by now, the NHL had decided to do that whole “playing hockey” thing this season after all. The New York Rangers just squeeze into the Top 10 as a result. Can’t really remember any hockey team breaking into the Top 10 in years past, so they have that going for them after the lockout.

10 - Pink

Good to see some movement in the top three. Remember kids, sharing is caring.

While allegedly doing a great deal of research for a future cover of the theme song to Octopussy, the esteemed Mr. Bieber takes the top spot. He trades places with 1D, who land at #2 while Taylor Swift patiently awaits her turn. I suppose 1D’s Harry Styles can take some comfort in this ranking after getting tossed back. Maybe 1D will get a cut of the future breakup song Swift writes about him.

Coming as it did last Monday, the BCS managed to hold onto the #4 spot on the strength of the first few days of this week. Quite a bit of interest in the game, at least until they started playing it. Budding screenwriters were likely most disappointed of all, as reality came crashing down upon a good story.

Rounding out the top 5, and leading a fresh pack of entries, is George Strait, whose farewell tour with Martina McBride is making the rounds in the coming months. Other spring diversions pack the bottom five, including the WWE, Monster Jam, and the Houston Rodeo.

Competing for your country music dollar this spring is Luke Bryan, who is on Dirt Road Diaries Tour. This is the more recently minted country star’s first headlining tour.

Finally, those looking for a little more R&B and rock in their pop can join P!nk on The Truth About Love Tour.
