Rap/Hip Hop

The top name for Rap fans in the 2015 Coachella Lineup will be Drake. Drake is slated to be the headliner and final show on Sunday for both weekends and will put the finishing touches on what looks to be an amazing Coachella experience. But he is not the only big name for hip hop fans in this year’s lineup. Friday will feature the up and coming artist Flying Lotus, whose 5th studio album “You’re Dead,” was one of the top albums of 2014. Flying Lotus is known for his creative use of stage lights and is constantly pushing the envelope of what a concert experience looks like. Other can’t miss Rap acts slated to perform at Coachella are Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Ab-Soul, Run the Jewels, and The Weeknd.

Indie and Rock could encompass most of the festival at Coachella, but there are definitely a few high notes. Saturday’s headliner Jack White is making his first appearance at Coachella since breaking off onto his solo career. He will be supporting his 2014 album Lazaretto which some consider his best work to date. Alt-J returns to Coachella after playing the festival a few years ago. The English indie rock band has been one of the most exciting acts over the last 5 years and released their 2nd full length album in 2014 “This Is All Yours.” Sunday will feature a number of top indie and rock bands, including Florence and the Machine, Ryan Adams, and St. Vincent. Other top indie/rock shows includes headliner AC DC, Brand New, and Hozier.

Fans of EDM or electronic music are in luck this year, as the 2015 Coachella lineup is packed with numerous talented acts from this genre. Kaskade will be one of the top shows on Sunday, and is best experienced in the outdoor music festival setting. After playing, ACL, and Lollapalooza in years past, the iconic DJ will sure to be one of the highest energy acts at Coachella this year. Lesser known, but equally as talented artist Cashmere Cat from Norway will play on Saturday. Cashmere Cat is quickly making a name for himself as one of the most unique and up and coming artist in the genre. Another can’t miss electronic act will be Jamie XX, as he returns to Coachella for the 2nd time in 3 years.

As always the 2015 Coachella Lineup is jam packed with something for everyone. Coachella, maybe more so than any of the other major music festivals, is about so much more than music. There are rides, attractictions, and of course the people that will be entertaining, inspiring, and all around a great time.
