Fresh off the heels of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, the International Champions Cup returned to the United States for a second straight year. Most countries don’t realize how passionate the U.S. is about soccer, but the collective sigh of disappointment when the United States missed the World Cup could probably be heard across the world.
Although MLS has shown improvements in recent years, attracting top international players and adding franchises seemingly each year, it’s hard to argue that nothing tops international soccer competition.
