Alan Jackson in Lubbock
Country Artist Alan Jackson is coming to Lubbock, Texas. This country star has come out with several albums like, his debut platinum album, Here in the Real World released in 1990. His follow up album was a smashing success with his 1991 release of Don’t Rock the Jukebox. The title track was a number one hit that year. Also in 1991, Jackson co-wrote some songs with legendary country star, Randy Travis for his High Lonesome Album. Then like clock work, Jackson released another album in 1992, A Lot About Livin; (And a Little ‘Bout Love). This Album gave him five top five hits, including “Chattahoochee” and “She’s Got the Rhythm (And I Got the Blues).”
After these albums, Jackson continued is success by releasing several other albums including, a holiday album Honky Tonk Christmas (1993), Who I Am (1994), Everything I Love (1996), High Mileage (1998), Under the Influence (1999), When Somebody Loves You (2000), Drive (2002), Let It Be Christmas (2002), What I Do (2004), Precious Memories (2006), Like Red on a Rose (2006), Good Time (2008). Along with these albums came several greatest hits albums and one live album from Texas Stadium.
With all his albums and all his hits, his concerts are sure to be fun filled and overflowing with great music, no matter what time period or from what album he decides to play. Which brings me to the news!! After a poll was put up on KCBD.com, asking Lubbock area residents “Who would you most likely go see if they came to Lubbock?, ” the answer was clear. With 19.8% of votes going to Alan Jackson, Lubbock based Llano Estacado Music Company saw the results and decided they wanted to get Jackson to play in Lubbock, and the rest is history.
