Angel Cabrera Wins US Open at Oakmont

Angel Cabrera, a 37 year old pro from Argentina, won the 107th US Open Golf Tournament on Sunday. Cabrera capped a magnificient Sunday with a par on 18 to shoot a final round 69. He beat Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk by one shot.

The win was Cabrera’s first PGA Tour win and the first time an Argentine golfer had won the US Open. And only the second time a golfer from Argentina had won one of golf’s majors; Roberto De Vicenzo won the British Open in 1967.

This year’s Open at Oakmont set a record for total attendance (258,907), eclipsing last year’s record crowd by almost 30K people.

There are only two golf majors left in 2007:
* The British Open at Carnoustie – July 15th-22nd
* The PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa – August 6th-12th

So get and see one of these great events.
