Arizona Cardinals are the NFC’s best team

Despite Sunday’s loss to Seattle, the Arizona Cardinals currently sit at 9-2 and hold a two game lead over both the Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers in the crowded NFC West. It was the first divisional loss for the Cardinals so it isn’t a huge blow to them for tiebreaking purposes, but it did make their road ahead a bit more difficult.

The question now is can the Cardinals hold on for long enough this season to win the division. It will not be easy with four of their five remaining games against teams with a realistic chance at the postseason. Below is a breakdown of each remaining game on the Cardinals schedule, as well as the average and get-in ticket prices currently on the secondary market.

Sunday, November 30th @ Atlanta Falcons
Average Ticket Price = $94 | get-in Ticket Price = $17

Next up for Arizona is the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta is 4-7 on the season, with a 4-0 record against divisional opponents and seven losses versus anyone outside of the AFC South. Coming off of a 26-24 heartbreaking loss to Cleveland, Atlanta will be looking to get a victory to maintain a presence in the AFC South race, but the Cardinals will be favored and should be able to get the win if they can avoid mistakes.

Sunday, December 7th vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Average Ticket Price = $225 | get-in Ticket Price = $86

The Chiefs are 7-4 and are still in the thick of the AFC West Divisional race, just a game back of the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs will be a very difficult opponent as their style of play is similar to the Cardinals with a very stout defense and a few playmakers on offense, most notable Jamal Charles, who can create trouble for Arizona. A win here would be huge for the Cardinals and would put them on the right path for the final three games of the year.

Thursday, December 11th @ St. Louis Rams
Average Ticket Price = $77 | get-in Ticket Price = $7

Just four days later, the Cardinals will need to face the Rams in St. Louis. The Rams have been one of the more difficult opponents all year long with wins against Seattle, San Francisco, and Denver. The Cardinals handedly put them away 31-14 in Week 10, but it’ll be a different ballgame in St. Louis on short rest.

Sunday, December 21st vs. Seattle Seahawks
Average Ticket Price = $296 | get-in Ticket Price = $121

The final home game of the season will be against Seattle in a rematch of Sunday’s bout. The Seahawks still have two games against San Francisco remaining, so there’s a strong possibility that the NFC West could be wrapped up at this point if the Cardinals can win their next three games. Nevertheless, if the Cardinals were to fall during one of their next three games, Seattle could be in position to take back the division lead with this game.

Sunday, December 28th @ San Francisco 49ers
Average Ticket Price = $338| get-in Ticket Price = $127

The final game of the season will be in San Francisco as the Cardinals visit the new Levi’s Stadium. If the division isn’t in Arizona’s hands entering Week 17, then they will have quite a dogfight to win it. The 49ers have been beaten at home this year, most notably a disappointing loss to the 4 win Chicago Bears, but they have always been a tough team to beat regardless of location and the extra stakes on the line would make the fans even more raucous than normal.
