Austin X-Games releases X-Music Schedule

xgamesAustinIt’s finally here, the 2014 X-Music full lineup and schedule. While I was a bit hesitant to the idea of a music festival at the X-Games, the schedulers behind the scenes actually did a fairly decent job of keeping the music and competition separated with enough time to enjoy both. The main attractions of the lineup, Kanye West, Pretty Lights, The Flaming Lips, and Gary Clark Jr. will all be taking the Austin360 Amphitheater well after competition has subsided, it’s only a few mid-day acts like My Jerusalem, Paris Blohm, Cash Cash, and Jayceeoh that will evoke a moment of question.

Let’s start with Friday, June 6 – day one of the X-Music schedule. Though it will be a busy day if you’re planning to catch all the shows and competitions, you should be able to maneuver your way through the day to find time for them all. The big overlap on Friday will be at 7:00PM when Luminox takes the stage at the Velocity Lounge and the Moto X Best Whip & Step Up Final gets underway. Friday will get started at the Sound Factory Stage with the Battle of the Bands competition, which will be the only shows at this stage for the entire weekend. Other bands hitting the stage on Friday include Featherface, FMLYBND, Five Knives – DJ Set, Leopold and His Fiction, Slightly Stoopid, Candyland, and Black Pistol Fire. The big finale for day one of the X-Music festival kicks off at 10PM at the Austin360 Amphitheater with Pretty Lights featuring special guest Dillon Francis.

Day two, Saturday, June 7 will keep you busy as well. Of course the main topic of discussion on Saturday will be surrounding the Austin360 Amphitheater for Kanye West’s debut. Mr. West will be taking the stage with Mac Miller at 10PM so there is no need to worry about conflicting arrangements. Day two is full of great bands, some you may have heard of others could be your next favorite artists. Afternoon acts include Auto Body, Magna Carda, Wavves, English Teeth, and Jayceeoh. Bad Religion will kick off the evening shows at 5PM followed by Black and White Years, Mystery Skulls, Not in the Face, and Cash Cash. As a recommendation, if you are not interested in any of these bands or the BMX Big Air Final, this may come as the perfect opportunity to snag a comfortable spot at the Amphitheater before the swarms of people take over for Kanye West.

The Austin X-Games weekend ends on Sunday, June 8 with Gary Clark Jr. (6PM) and The Flaming Lips (7:45PM) at the Austin360 Amphitheater. Along with the Battle of the Bands Final (5PM), Sunday will bring out Mirror Travel, Paris Blohm, Emily Wolfe, Mayer Hawthorne, Little Radar, and My Jerusalem.

There it is. The X-Games debut in Austin, Texas is all set and ready to take over the Circuit of the Americas like no other event has. For a full schedule of the X-Music lineup and tickets check out our X-Games page. You can also find more information on the X-Games competition here.
