Houston has hosted several Grand Prix races, but Austin hasn’t been an IndyCar tour stop despite having one of the great North American racetracks. The time has finally come for COTA and Austin to get an IndyCar race. This weekend, March 22-24, NTT IndyCar Series comes to town and is going to provide a unique racing experience.
Second in length among IndyCar road courses, COTA is the newest track in the series. The recent construction provides plenty of paved run-off areas, which in turn make for more overtaking and action for race fans. This race should be one of the best of the season!
Additionally, COTA is opening the support paddock as Town Center campground, so fans can camp in RVs in the track infield all week long. Local artists will play concerts in the evenings, but the main concert happens Saturday.
MUSE will headline the evening entertainment at the IndyCar Classic. When you buy a Saturday ticket to the race, you’ll get a wristband for the concert at venue entry. The wristband gives you access to the General Admission/Pit area of Austin360 Amphitheater (check out the map here).
If you’ve never been to Circuit of the Americas, check out the virtual tour.
