Bruce Springsteen to play 2009 Super Bowl
Bruce Springsteen is going to headline the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida. Super Bowl 43 is being played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on February 1, 2009. The game will be carried by NBC Sports. The Boss and his E Street Band will be the feature performer in the halftime act that is sure to include lots of great music, elaborate stage designs and dancing performers.
The NFL has been careful in recent years about who they select for the halftime show, ever since the controversial “wardrobe malfunction” by Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston, Texas. That year (2004) was the last time the NFL selected MTV to produce the Super Bowl halftime performance, since then they’ve used the more conservative Don Mischer Productions.
