2019’s Hottest Music Festivals

The schedules are out for many of 2019’s music festivals and this is shaping up to be one of the best music festival seasons in recent memory.  While two of the biggest (Lolla and CMA) don’t yet have their lineups set, several big acts are making festivals part of their tours and individual festivals are stronger than ever before. While the average ticket price for all Music Festivals was around $154, several festivals with big headliners garnered much higher prices in 2018. Austin Rodeo, March 2019

Austin Rodeo Average Ticket Price: $85.51

One of the earliest festivals, Austin Rodeo won’t make their 2019 lineup official until January 22nd.  Austin will kick off the music festival season with over 100 live music performances over more than two weeks.  Once the lineup is set, we’ll post it on our event page at TicketCity.com.

Coachella, April 2019

Coachella Average Ticket Price: $809.80

Coachella 2019 is one of the best lineups in recent years.  Headliners include Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, The 1975, Khalid, Zedd and Bad Bunny.  Since starting in 1999, The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has become one of the largest festivals on the west coast and one of the biggest bucket list events we sell.

The festival is more than just music across 8 stages.  Coachella’s food program and Indio Central Market is known as one of the best food festivals of the year.  Other activities include original art installations across the Empire Polo Field, the Energy Playground where you can charge your phone with you play and pop-up shopping.  Pack the sunscreen, drink plenty of water and get your wristbands at TicketCity.

BottleRock Festival, May 2019

BottleRock Average Ticket Price: $404.72

BottleRock just released their lineup and headliners for Friday include Imagine Dragons, Logic, OneRepublic and Sylvan Esso.  Saturday top artists are Neil Young + Promise of the Real, Pharrell Williams, Nathaniel Rateliffe & The Night Sweats and Gary Clark, Jr.  Closing out Sunday are Mumford & Sons, Santana, Tash Sultana and Lord Huron.

The full lineup can be found on TicketCity, but this music festival in the heart of California wine country has become one of the top festivals of the last few years.  Music, Food, Wine and Brew are the keystones of BottleRock and highlights include the Culinary Stage and Bourbon Bar.

CMA Music Festival, June 2019

CMA Music Festival Average Ticket Price: $546.37

We won’t get the formal CMA Music Festival lineup until Spring.  With over 380 artists last year like Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and long-time favorites like Dwight Yoakam, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Lee Ann Womack, CMA Music Festival will be one of the hottest festival tickets of the year.

Essence Music Festival, July 2019

Essence Music Festival Average Ticket Price: $222.01

2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the Essence Festival in New Orleans at the Superdome.  With events all over the city including the Beauty Carnival and 10 conference tracks ranging from Community to Eats, Tech and Wellness.  The Essence Concert Series presents over 100 of the biggest names in music across three nights from the mainstage to intimate performances.

This year’s Essence Music Festival lineup is not yet official, but several top artists are expected to celebrate the big anniversary year.  Past headliners included Janet Jackson, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Missy Elliott, The Roots, Idris Elba, H.E.R., Big Freedia, Xscape, Queen Latifah, Miguel, and Brandy.  Look for the lineup on our event page when it drops.

Lollapalooza, August 2019

Lollapalooza Average Ticket Price: $278.89

Even though the lineup isn’t yet released, Lollapalooza is always in the top 3 of musical festivals for the year.  Variety has just reported that Ariana Grande is going to headline this year’s event. Last year The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Jack White, Arctic Monkeys and Travis Scott headlined and were supported by big acts like Vampire Weekend, Odesza, Logic and Post Malone.

2019 Lineup rumors are still flying with names like twenty one pilots, Kendrick Lamar, Tame Impala and Cardi B being thrown about.  South American iterations of the festival have included Arctic Monkeys, Lenny Kravitz, Greta Van Fleet, St. Vincent, The 1975, Portugal. The Man and others, so keep an eye here for the official lineup to drop.

Burning Man, August 2019

Burning Man Average Ticket Price: $1,735.07

There is nothing like Burning Man.  Burning Man is not a festival, it is a community. Each year this community creates an experience like no other.  If you’ve never been, check out the First-Timer’s Guide.  70,000 people making a temporary city in the middle of the desert since 1991 must be on to something as it is one of the most popular festival events we sell.

Austin City Limits Festival, October 2019

ACL Fest Average Ticket Price: $274.07

Austin also closes out the music festival season in October with ACL, a tradition since 2002.  The three-day festival plays over two weekends and features over 150 artists on eight stages. Recent headliners of the past have included Paul McCartney, Metallica, Arcade Fire, Beck, The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, The Eagles, and Foo Fighters.  

This year’s ACL Fest will be a top ticket and, while there’s no lineup yet, artists will likely include Asleep at the Wheel and Barton Hill Choir, both of whom have play at least the last 10 ACL Fests.  Other lineup rumors include Tame Impala, The 1975, Anderson .Paak, Mumford & Sons, Zedd and even Childish Gambino, who sadly had to cancel his 2018 appearance.
