Soccer: The World’s Sport

Watching the game today with AC Milan vs Manchester United for the right to go to the Championship made me realize that soccer might actually have a chance to survive and grow in the United States. There are a lot of passionate fans here that love the game. And there is no better way to enjoy the “beautiful game” than by having some cold beer with friends at your favorite Irish pub. The championship between Liverpool and AC Milan should be fantastic because it is a rematch from two years ago.

So stand back non-believers, because I think soccer is here to stay.

  • I agree…. I really think soccer has a chance in the USA and I hope with time it does grow into a sport as popular to watch as the NBA basketball or NHL hockey. I remember watching the Dallas Sidekicks as a kid and loving it, wondering why it wasn’t as popular as all the other professional sports Dallas fans love. Granted, it was indoor soccer but it was a lot of fun… I bet an outdoor game on the professional level can be exciting… our International friends seem to think so!!
