Major Sporting Events this Spring

Spring is the time of year when the biggest, most exciting and most memorable sporting events in the U.S. take place.

The Super Bowl is the first of these big events. It’s recently moved into the first weekend of February. It’s one of the most watched sporting events in the World (besides World Cup Soccer). And the week of parties that lead up to the big game, have become as legendary as the game itself. Ticket City is an active part of that week as one of the sponsors of Playboy’s Super Saturday Night party – the top party of Super Bowl week. So the Super Bowl is worth attending for the parties.

The next big Spring sporting event is the NCAA Tournament and NCAA Final Four. This event is perhaps the most intense of the Spring sports, because people are so passionate about their schools. The Final Four (this year taking place in Atlanta, Georgia) features the best schools in College Basketball. So this event is worth attending just to see the fans go crazy…and if your school makes it to the Final Four, don’t even think about skipping it.

The Masters golf tournament at Augusta National comes up next, in early April. The Masters is THE golf event to see if you are a fan of the sport. Just walking the course at Augusta National is a dream come true for a golfer. But then to see the players, up close, and feel the excitement on the course during the tournament. You cannot miss this event. And seeing the smiles on the people who have been treated to this event (by their wife, son, business associate, etc) tells you all you need to know.

The last big Spring sporting event is the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks. These two races are races the first weekend in May (Friday & Saturday). And the Derby is commonly referred to as ‘the fastest two minutes in sports’. This event has celebrities, gambling, drinking (mint juleps), fancy hats, great food and action-packed horse racing. What else could you want for an exciting weekend?

So get out there this Spring and experience these events for yourself. The memories they will create will last a lifetime.
