March Madness 2008

By far March is the best time of the year for any College Basketball fan. It all begins with each league having it’s tournament which begin on March 13th and end with a League Championship game on March 16th.

The Big 12 Men’s Tournament is in Kansas City at the Sprint Center.
The SEC Men’s Tournament is in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome.
The Big 10 Tournament is in Indianpolis at the Consico Fieldhouse.
The Big East Tournament is in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
The ACC Men’s Tournament is in Charlotte at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
The PAC 10 Tournament is in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
The MAC Mens Tournament is in Cleveland at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Everyone wants to win their leagues tournament to get better sitting in the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Tournament begins the next week on March 20th and ends on April 7th in San Antonio. The Final Four will be held in San Antonio in 2008.

So the teams have not been selected yet but the cities which are hosting the tournament have been selected. In the first round which starts play on March 20th and 21st the following cities will be hosting the tournament. These are come of the most exciting because every year there are a couple of underdog teams which pull off a upset against a much higher ranked team.

In the East the Tournaments will be held in Birmingham Alabama, Denver Colorado, Tampa Florida, and Raleigh North Carolina.
In the West the Tournament will be held in Little Rock Arkansas, Tampa Florida, Omaha Nebraska, Anaheim California.
In the South the Tournament will be held in Lttle Rock Arkansas, Washington D.C., Anaheim California, Omaha Nebraska
In the Midwest the Tournament will be held in Raleigh North Carolina, Denver Colorado, Birmingham Alabama, Washington D.C.

The East teams will advance to Charlotte.
The West teams will advance to Phoenix.
The South teams will advance to Houston.
The Midwest teams will advance to Detroit.

The winners in each of these cities will advance to San Antonio as the Final Four teams. They call this March Madness because of the excitement generated. If your team losses they are out if they win they advance and each time playing a harder opponent than the time before. San Antonio is a great city for the Final Four. Everyone gathers at the River Walk and shows their team spirit. I will see you in San Antonio.
