MLS All-Stars Defeat Scottish Champs

A team of MLS All-Stars defeated legendary soccer powerhouse Celtic FC last night 2-0. The MLS All-Stars were led by a pair of Colombians. Juan Pablo Angel scored the first goal for the MLS All-Stars, to put them up 1-nil. And later his teammate Juan Toja took a deflection from a penalty kick and knocked it in the back of the net. Neither team scored in the 2nd half, so the MLS team held on for the win.

The victory for the MLS was especially sweet because Celtic is the reigning Scottish Premiere League champs, and features a roster of ‘all-stars’ themselves. They also treated this “friendly” like a real match, and were definitely trying to pull out the victory.

The next big step for MLS soccer is when David Beckham starts playing. The hype on ESPN and in the media is at an all-time high, so if Beckham can draw bigger crowds and produce some exciting soccer. Then the MLS might see success that they’ve never had before.
