Attractions near the Carrier Dome

Since the games don’t start until later in the day, attendees of the tournament will likely be searching for things to do to pass the time until tipoff. Just under three miles away is Destiny USA, a six-story super-regional shopping and entertainment complex. Inside the extravagant mall are 200 stores, a cinema, numerous restaurants and a serviceable food court.

For museum junkies, the Everson Museum of Art is under one mile away from the Carrier Dome. If you like museums but art isn’t your cup of tea, then the Erie Canal Museum could be the place for you. This museum provides the history of the Erie Canal for all to learn.

If you are bringing little ones along with you, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo is just over two miles away from the dome. The zoo offers your typical zoo animals, along with a nice aquarium to keep the children fascinated for an hour or two.

No. 4 Louisville vs. No. 8 N.C. State

This game will tipoff at 7:37 on Friday, March 27th.  To get to this point, Louisville snuck by UC Irvine before going on to beat Northern Iowa in the round of 32. N.C. State beat LSU before beating the top seeded Villanova Wildcats in the round of 32. The Wolfpack are one of the teams that busted many brackets during the opening weekend. Louisville opens this game as a slight favorite, but expect the Wolfpack to be riding high after upending the Wildcats of Villanova.

No. 3 Oklahoma vs. No. 7 Michigan State

Following the aforementioned game, the third-seeded Oklahoma Sooners beat Albany in the second round and then went on to defeat a pesky Dayton squad. Tom Izzo’s Spartans beat Georgia before upsetting the second-seeded Virginia Cavaliers. This is the second straight year where Izzo’s boys knocked Virginia out of the tournament. The Spartans are the early favorite to win this game, even if Oklahoma is the better seed. Michigan State always shows up to play in March, but Buddy Hield will look to push Oklahoma to the elite eight.
