Eastern Conference Showdown

With LeBron James on the court Friday night, the Cavs were just fine. But after its big Game 6 lead disappeared with James on the bench, Cleveland reached the Eastern finals with an 88-72 win in N.J. Home for a must-win Game 6, the Nets didn’t get off to the best start. But after trailing by as many as 21 in the second quarter, New Jersey trailed just 61-60 entering the fourth. LeBron’s 23 points helped Cleveland win the series 4-2 and head to Detroit on Monday night for its third appearance in a conference finals and the first since 1992. James, who had eight rebounds and eight assists, needed only four years to get the Cavs into the NBA’s final four.
