Spider-Man One Swing Closer to Broadway

Choreography rehearsals for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark began last week, the most concrete news yet that the production may actually happen after suffering numerous delays, including the loss of two major stars. Reeve Carney, the only one of the original main cast to remain after the delays, is learning the ropes, or more specifically, the wires, necessary to get Spider-Man off the stage and into the air.

Though there’s been no official announcement yet, the general consensus is that the show may open sometime in October. Replacing departed stars Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cummings are Jennifer Damiano and Patrick Page as Mary Jane Watson and Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. Veteran Broadway director Julie Taymor is still attached and the music and lyrics are still products of U2’s Bono and Edge, The.
