Sting and Paul Simon – On Stage Together

Credit where due, the name of the tour pretty much sums up any post you could make about the news: “Paul Simon & Sting – On Stage Together.” What it lacks in zazz it more than makes up for in efficient communication of fact, which is apparently what audiences crave these days. It’s a title bold enough to stand up and say, “What else could you possibly want from me?”

For the uninitiated, Sting and Paul Simon are musical heavyweights rich in top 10 hit history. Personal history as well, as both men inhabited the same Manhattan address prior to hitting the big time. The genesis of this particular collaboration began with a benefit performance for the Robin Hood Foundation earlier this year. After playing a couple of songs together, they decided something a little larger might work.

That idea eventually became the 18 date tour that arrives next winter. The tour starts in Texas with shows in Houston and Dallas, and ends with shows in Florida.
