Super Bowl XLIX Tailgating Options
We have received a lot of questions about what to do in the hours leading up to Super Bowl XLIX. A lot of fans were disappointed to discover that setting up personal tailgates at the Super Bowl will be prohibited. But if you are lucky enough to have purchased tickets to Super Bowl XLIX, there are a number of options of fun events to attend before the game.
Here are a few of the top events within walking distance of University of Phoenix Stadium.
Gameday Fan Plaza
Hours: 12:00 – 3:00
Admission requirements: All Super Bowl XLIX ticketholders are allowed entry.
After passing through security fans will have a number of entertainment options at the Gameday Fan Plaza. The Vince Lombardi Trophy will be on display and there will be a photo op with football’s most iconic award. There will also be marching bands, cheerleaders, musical acts and more. Fans will also be able to compete in kicking games located on the great lawn to the southwest of University of Pheonix Stadium. Concessions will be available for sale as well as Super Bowl and team merchandise.
Westgate Super Music Series
Hours: 11:00 – 4:00
Admissions requirements: Free and open to the Public
Location: WaterDance Plaza – 6770 N. Sunrise Blvd. Glendale, AZ 85305
Located just to the north of University of Phoenix Stadium is the Westgate Entertainment District. Westgate is putting on parties and events and entertainment all weekend prior to the Super Bowl. On Super Bowl Sunday, there are a number of great bands scheduled to play, with the music kicking off at 11 am. Admission is completely free to the public and there are restaurants and bars in the area to provide food and drinks. The concert lineup on Super Bowl Sunday is listed below.

DirecTV Super Fan Tailgate Party
Hours: 12:00 – 3:00
Admission requirements: Tickets are required for admission into the tailgate.
Location: Pendergast Family Farm
The party is hosted by Chrissy Teigen and features an open bar and tons of food options. The tailgate is reserved for DirecTV Super Fan Tailgate ticket holders, but will give you the opportunity to possibly meet some top NFL players, celebrities, and other super fans. Located just across the street from University of Phoenix Stadium, the party is a great way to spend the hours leading up to Super Bowl XLIX.
