After a bruised and bloodied first three games of the Western Conference semifinals, Game 4 followed suit Monday night as Robert Horry hip checked Suns guard Steve Nash hard into the scorers table with 18 seconds to play. Horry was ejected and a brawl was avoided but Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw did leave the bench to assist Nash which could result in suspensions for the hugely important Game 5. The Suns won the game 104-98 to even the series at two games apiece.
What now? Does the NBA need to hand down multiple suspensions to send a message? Should Horry be suspended for one game, multiple games or not at all? Should Stoudemire and Diaw miss Game 5 for leaving the bench? And how does the fact that Bruce Bowen avoided suspension for his previous actions in the series factor into the decision-making? So many questions…all of which will be answered Wednesday night in game 5 of this exciting Western Conference semifinals.
