The Police touring again

After 23 years apart, The Police finally reunited in February 2007 at the Grammy Awards. Sting, Andy Summers and Steward Copeland rocked the stage at the Grammys, and shortly afterwards announced they would be going on tour again.

The Police will launch the North American leg of their tour in Vancouver in late May, and play throughout the Summer and into the Fall. Get tickets to The Police here and see the legendary rock group playing together again.

The Police were one of the most popular groups in the world in the 1980’s, but dissolved after their Synchronicity tour in 1984. Since that time they’ve only played a few shows together, including at their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2003.

The Police Tour Dates (some of their key dates):
6/6 – Oakland
6/15 – Las Vegas
6/23 – Los Angeles
6/26 – Dallas, Texas
7/28 & 29 – Boston at Fenway Park
8/1 – New York City (1st show at Madison Square Garden)

  • It was announced yesterday that the Chicago Cubs will give up a night game at Wrigley Field so that The Police can play shows there. The Cubs will give up a night game during their home stand against the Washington Nationals from July 2nd-5th so that Sting and his mates can play two shows there. The Police are scheduled to play Wrigley Field on July 5th and 6th.

On the night of the concerts, the Cubs agreed to cut off stadium sales of beer and alcohol at 9:30PM, and provide security around Wrigley until 2AM.

The reason the Cubs were willing to give up a night game was a financial one. For The Police concert they will keep 100% of what they earn. On a normal Cubs home game, they only keep 2/3 of their earnings, with the other portion being shared with the other MLB teams.
