MLB Average Ticket Price Study
“How can I get the best deal on MLB tickets?” is a question we often get at TicketCity. Since we’ve been in business for 33 years, we decided to look back at past sales data to see if there are any trends or guidance for this upcoming 2023 season.

TicketCity’s historical sales, network of sellers and industry partners has allowed us to accumulate a large warehouse of ticket-related data over our 30-plus years in business. For this study, we looked at MLB regular season ticket sales prices since 2014. We added together all the sales for each of these games by the day of the week of the event. The Average Ticket Price (ATP) displayed is the total sales divided by the number of tickets sold.
The results are summarized in the chart above. Tuesday and Wednesday had the lowest ATP, probably because of lower demand. Friday and Saturday were the highest average ticket prices.
