Tigers defeat Cardinals in World Series rematch.

The Tigers can’t take the World Series trophy back from the Cardinals. They can hope their wins this weekend make a dent in getting them back there.
“I feel pretty good,” Brandon Inge said after his go-ahead homer helped put away a 6-3 win and a series sweep Sunday at Comerica Park. “But it’s kind of a year late, isn’t it?”

It’s still a bit of history. For the first time in seven World Series rematches since Interleague Play began a decade ago, there was a sweep. In this case, the World Series loser exacted some revenge. Inge’s two-run homer in the fifth preceded a three-run sixth that put away the victory.
