Top College Football Conference Games

With just a few short weeks until the kickoff of the 2014 college football season, demand for many of the best games of the season is picking up.  Fans will travel far and wide to see their favorite teams on the gridiron and we here at TicketCity want to make sure you are getting the best deals on all your college football tickets.  Below, we’ve broken down the biggest game in each of the five top conferences this season, based on average ticket price.  Even though these are some of the most expensive games of the season, there’s still ways to find great deals and bargains if you’re looking to go!

Atlantic Coast Conference: Florida State Seminoles vs. Louisville Cardinals (Average ticket price = $320)

The reigning National Champions are going to be a hot ticket this season, as evidenced by this October 30th matchup at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium against the Louisville Cardinals.  The cheapest ticket you’ll be able to find is $82 for the Thursday night game.  What’s interesting about this game is there are only a couple hundred tickets remaining available, compared to a couple thousand for each of the following games.  With such little inventory remaining, chances are ticket prices will stay relatively the same (if not, increase) during the season.  And if these two teams can live up to preseason expectations, the ACC title could be on the line.

Big 12 Conference: Texas Longhorns v. Oklahoma Sooners (Average ticket price = $467)

The Red River Rivalry continues to be one of the most expensive tickets in college football, exceeding all but two games in average ticket price at $467.  The Longhorns will look to recapture their past glory under new first year coach Charlie Strong, while the Sooners look to start the season strong following an impressive Sugar Bowl victory over Alabama last year.

Big Ten Conference: Michigan Wolverines vs. Ohio State Buckeyes (Average ticket price = $428)

Urban Meyer has had Michigan’s number the past two years and if he can make it three in a row, Buckeyes fans will happily fork over the $428 it will take – on average – to see these two teams clash at Ohio Stadium on November 29th.  Michigan vs. Ohio State tickets are available for as low as $175 at TicketCity, so you won’t have to fork over more than $400 if you want some of the cheapest tickets.

Pac 12 Conference: UCLA Bruins vs. USC Trojans (Average ticket price = $300)

The Bruins and Trojans hold one of the greatest rivalries in college sports, and there’s no better visual than the red of USC clashing against the Bruin blue at the Rose Bowl every year. Tickets start at $107 for the matchup and you can sit at midfield for as low as $274.

Southeastern Conference: Alabama vs. LSU (Average ticket price = $554)

The most expensive in-conference battle is unsurprisingly taking place between two SEC opponents.  The Crimson Tide of Alabama will descend upon Death Valley and try to defeat LSU at Tiger Stadium on November 8th.  At $554, the average ticket price is not higher than previous matchups between the two squads, but still far surpasses all other college football games in 2014.
