Top Games of College Football Week 4 2014
Week 4 of College Football provided several exciting games and moments, punctuated by the top-seeded Seminoles of Florida State holding off the Clemson Tigers in overtime. Th
e second ranked Oregon Ducks were just able to beat the Washington State Cougars in what few thought would be a close game. And in SEC play, Alabama took care of business, doubling the point total of their opponent, the Florida Gators, en route to a 42-21 victory, but other top ranked SEC teams were less fortunate. 8th-ranked LSU fell to Mississippi State 34-29 and Missouri lost to the visiting Indiana Hoosiers 31-27.
Below is a breakdown of the most exciting games coming up this week.
Saturday, 3:30 PM EST: Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Texas A&M Aggies | AT&T Stadium | Median Ticket Price: $187
Texas A&M has been one of the more impressive teams this season having won their first four games by a combined score of 221-47. They opened with an impressive win over South Carolina on the road and have taken down Lamar, Rice, and SMU since. This kicks off a brutal stretch of games for the Aggies with the following three matchups being @ 14th-ranked Mississippi State, home against 10th ranked Ole Miss, and on the road against 3rd-ranked Alabama.
Arkansas enters the game at 3-1 with its lone loss a 45-21 defeat to Auburn in the opening week of the year. After facing A&M, they’ll have home games against Alabama and Georgia. So both teams need a victory here if they want to have any illusions of SEC glory in 2014.
The median price for Arkansas vs. Texas A&M football tickets is currently $187, the highest of the week. The game will take place at AT&T Stadium in Dallas so expect a majority of fans to be for the Aggies.
Saturday, 7:00 PM EST: Missouri Tigers @ South Carolina Gamecocks | Williams-Brice Stadium | median Ticket Price: $105
Both Missouri and South Carolina have suffered disappointing defeats already this season, making this Week 4 matchup one of the most intriguing games on the slate. Missouri is reeling from an embarrassing 31-27 defeat last week to Indiana. A late touchdown did the Tigers in and now they’ll enter SEC play with a blemished record.
The Gamecocks opened up the season against the Texas A&M Aggies at home and were walloped 52-28. Since then, they’ve played two additional SEC opponents, knocking off both Georgia and Vanderbilt. A second loss would most likely cripple their chances of being the SEC East representative in the SEC Conference Championship game this season.
Right now, the median ticket price for Missouri vs. South Carolina football tickets is just a touch over $100 at $105.
Saturday, 10:30 PM EST: Oregon State Beavers @ USC Trojans | Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum | Median Ticket Price: $70
USC returns to the field after its disastrous loss at Boston College on the 13th. Just a week after their great victory at Stanford, the Trojans fell flat on their face in Boston, falling to the Eagles 37-31. That’s probably part of the reason the median price is a bit lower now at just $70 for USC football tickets.
Now Pac-12 play will begin and they’ll face off against the undefeated Oregon State Beavers. Oregon State has yet to face as stiff competition as the Trojans, defeating the likes of Portland State, Hawaii, and San Diego State thus far. Presently, the Beavers are almost a two touchdown underdog, but if recent history is any indication, they have a shot to take down Southern Cal.
