Where to park at the Belmont Stakes
The buzz and excitement surrounding the 2015 Belmont Stakes could not be higher. American Pharaoh enters the race as maybe the biggest contender for the Triple Crown in close to 4 decades, following the Thoroughbred’s staggering victory in the Preakness a few weeks ago. The anticipation of horse racing’s first Triple Crown winner has seen demand and pricing for the Belmont Stakes rise drastically, with median ticket prices for the event standing at $85 (as of 6/3/2015), which is almost a 100% increase from last year’s median ticket price of $48. This demand will mean that the stands and infield will both be packed for the running, and makes planning your trip all the more important. Here is a complete look at parking at the 2015 Belmont Stakes.
Parking on a Budget
If you are trying to park at the Belmont Stakes on a budget, there are two great options for you. Generally the cheapest onsite parking at Belmont Park sits on the north side of the track at the Green and Blue parking lots. If you are pinching every dollar, these are going to be your best bet. But if you are willing to spend just a little bit more, the yellow (not to be confused with gold), and pink parking lots which are located on the south side of the venue. Parking on the south side is worth the extra few dollars that you will spend, because you have quick access to Gate C, which walks you in past famous duck pond, lets you check out the paddock, and experience the grounds a little bit before walking inside.
Parking for Convenience
The most convenient parking lots are going to be the Gold, Purple, and Red parking lots, located just outside the south entrances to Belmont Park. The Gold and Purple lots are usually the most expensive onsite parking options at the track, but offer quick entrance via the Clubhouse, and will allow you to quickly exit to Plainfield Rd. The Red Lot is just as close to the track, is cheaper, but does not offer the quick entrance to the Clubhouse for patrons with Clubhouse passes.
All Parking FAQ
All the onsite parking options will be open to fans at 8:00 am on the morning of the Belmont Stakes (June 6th). Parking is on a first come first serve basis on the day of the race and purchasing a parking pass and getting to the track early are always the best ways to guarantee yourself a spot.
