Wimbledon Match Makes History

Some thought it would never end … and they were right! After a grueling 9 1/2 hour match, John Isner (USA) and Nicolas Mahut (FR) can finally call it a night. The match was set to begin yesterday, June 22 and was suspended because of the weather. It will now go into a 3rd day, making this officially the longest tennis match in history  – and it’s not over yet.

Normally, this could be settled with a tie breaker game to avoid never-ending games. However, Wimbledon is not just any tennis tournament and it does not offer a tie breaker in the finals. The players will rest tonight and prepare to duke it out again in Day 3 of their match tied at 59-59.

Luckily we know where you can get the tickets to their follow up match!
